- The saxophone is fully disassembled
- The body, neck, and keys are cleaned and polished to remove dirt, grime, and tarnish
- Pads are cleaned individually by hand
- Old lubricants are removed from the keywork.
- Fresh grease and oil are applied to the keywork.
- Pivot screws and springs may also be lubricated.
- The instrument is reassembled
- Key regulation and fitting are adjusted for proper response and intonation
- Saxophone is play-tested to check overall performance
